2024: A Year of Growth, Joy, and Unforgettable Moments
Yesterday was our last wedding of 2024! As 2024 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on an incredible year filled with growth, joy, and unforgettable moments. From timeless elegance to bold creativity, this season brought so much life to Lottie Weddings and the couples we’ve had the honor to celebrate.
Big Steps and New Beginnings
This year marked Lottie’s fourth wedding season in Calgary—and my first full-time year as a wedding planner! With this milestone came exciting changes: a revamped website, new tailored services for multi-day events, pre- and post-wedding celebrations, and elopements. We also launched the “Let’s Talk About” blog series, a companion to our Instagram posts, and expanded our Lottie Dashboard for seamless wedding planning.
We couldn’t have done it without our amazing couples, talented vendors, and a growing team committed to making wedding dreams come true.

Unforgettable Designs and Themes
This year, J+W brought timeless elegance to life with their wedding at Mickelson National Golf Course. They dreamed of a reception illuminated by candles, and we made it happen—with over 360 candles transforming the space into a warm, magical haven. Their black-and-white palette was a hit, but seeing their guests' awe at the setup was the true highlight.

A+C’s November wedding at the Fairmont Banff Springs was all about intention and meaning. From personalized thank-you notes to every guest, to bridesmaid bouquets symbolizing unique relationships, every detail was steeped in emotion. Their playlist, curated to reflect special memories, brought tears to our team’s eyes at every turn.

Rising to the Challenges
One of our most memorable challenges came at a wedding where weather and technical difficulties collided. With no cell service, a temperamental forecast, and a DJ’s technical difficulties, our team jumped in to keep things running smoothly. Our team sourced backup music, sprinted through rain to grab speakers, and helped flip the ceremony space twice in response to last-minute weather changes. Seeing the couple's gratitude and hearing their glowing review made every moment worth it.
A Hilarious and Fun Memory
Getting to know our clients and their families is one of the best parts of what we do. This year, a highlight was an impromptu dance-off with a mother-of-the-bride and her aunt at the end of the night. Their incredible moves and laughter brought so much energy to the evening—moments like these remind us how special weddings truly are!
Stunning Venues
A+P’s wedding at Azuridge Estate was a showstopper. Their vision for a vintage, timeless celebration was brought to life with the help of vendors like Little Daisy Florals and Boxwood Rentals, who gave us full creative freedom. Watching their faces light up as they entered their reception was everything.

Creative Collaborations with Talented Vendors
This year, we had the privilege of collaborating with some incredible vendors, including the immensely talented Nika Helgeson Photography and Justine Milton. Together, we brought styled shoots to life that pushed creative boundaries, offering bold and inspiring ideas for couples. These shoots allowed us to showcase a more daring side of wedding design, blending luxury with imagination and proving that Alberta weddings can be both elegant and exciting.
Whether it was capturing moody, romantic tones or playful, vibrant palettes, working alongside such visionary photographers expanded what we thought was possible. We’re so grateful for these partnerships and the opportunity to bring fresh inspiration to the couples we serve.
